Family Photo Fun with Abigail Eaves

Whilst we have had some lovely, sunny weather, me and my sister decided to update our family photos now that the boys are a year older and have lost their baby faces (sob!).

The photograph that I fell in love with at the shop launch
At a recent shop launch I was invited to, I bumped into the rather talented lady, Abigail Eaves, who did all of the shop's fashion photography and we got chatting. She explained that she does various shoots from fashion, corporate, weddings to family and newborns.

I asked if she would be interested in photographing Chunk and my nephew Curly, and we agreed to meet on the beach a few days later.

I don't know about you, but when Chunk was first born, I spent a lot of money that I didnt have, on photographs in dingy studios with rather arrogant photographers that would only give me 10 minutes of their time. Now that I look back, I can see the photos were not great quality and I was basically mugged off.

I also don't really like the fake, unnatural photos that studios can produce, with our cheesy, pasted-on smiles and the plain white or black background, so I was pleased that Abigail was a lot more versatile and creative.

Abigail hard at work!
When we got to the beach the boys instantly wanted to start exploring, and they weren't phased by the camera, as Abigail was really sweet with them, asking them questions about what they were finding, giving them a lot of physical space initially so they were able to relax and she took her time.

I felt instantly at ease with Abigail, so I didn't feel embarrassed or awkward when it came to me having my photos taken, which was helpful because it meant the photos didn't look staged in the slightest.

We were on the beach for a good hour, and in between shots Abigail would sit and chat with me, and she made sure we had the chance to tell her exactly what kind of shots we wanted so that she made sure we were happy with the end products.

I have added just a few samples of some of the photos she took, and as you can see the boys look so naturally happy, which to me is the best form of photography you can get. I didn't once have to look down the lense of the camera, and we all had a really fun time playing on the beach and even splashing around in the water.

Just some of the GORGEOUS photos by Abigail Eaves
It was by far the most fun and relaxed photoshoot I have ever been on, and I will make sure to use her in another years time when the boys will yet again look completely different!

Abigail is able to take bookings all across the country, and she is currently in the process of putting special package options together for family and newborn photography, so check her out on
Facebook or her website for more details.

For the purpose of this post, I was given a free photography session by Abigail Eaves. No payment was received for this post, so all opinions are honest and my own.
