Homemade Frozen Summer Treats for Babies & Toddlers!

Homemade Lollies for Babies and ToddlersDuring this heatwave we have been having this week, I have started to think of little frozen treats that Chunk and Curly can enjoy to attempt to cool down, because overheated toddlers are not an enjoyable experience!

Last year when I attempted Slimming World, I used to make low calorie iced treats by freezing Muller Light yoghurts, so I have taken that idea and swapped those yoghurts for more baby and toddler-friendly products.

Basically, you mix some ingredients together and then fill an ice cube tray with the mixture and a lolly stick. Freeze overnight and then you have small iced chunks that are the perfect size for a baby or toddler, and this size will also not cause as much mess as a normal lolly, because it should only take them 5 minutes to eat!

Flavours I'm going to attempt are:

Fresh banana (mashed) with a child yoghurt (e.g. Petit Filous)

Pure (not concentrated) orange juice and water (one part juice to ten parts water)

Fruit pots/ Squeezy tubes with some water
Tinned peaches (mashed) with plain yoghurt

Kiwi and oranges (mashed) with some yoghurt

Feel free to comment under this post with any of your own ideas, so we can all share our summer recipe ideas!

  1. I make these too and also ice lollies using just sugar free dilute juice and water! So much cheaper than buying lollies and the kids love to help make then too and experiment with different juices and even diet lemonade or Fanta! So refreshing when it is hot and if you use sugar free juices like us, then they are not too bad for you either!

  2. diluted juice is always a winner and so refreshing, thanks for your comment!
